Joanne MURPHY

Joanne Murphy 1953 2009 Joanne Murphy, age 56 years, went home to rest in peace with the Lord on Monday, October 12th, 2009, with family at her side. She was born in the Philippines in 1953 and after living as an adult in the USA, came to Canada in 1986. She loved Canada. Joanne enjoyed making floral arrangements. She was also known as a great dancer and singer and while in the Philippines was an entertainer for over three years with the U.S.O. touring in Vietnam during the war years. Prior to her illness she also ran a marble and onyx business and was a past president of the Filipino Canadian Association of Saskatoon. She loved her grandchildren dearly; they made her smile. Heartfelt gratitude goes to all who cared for her during her many health battles. She is survived by her husband Michael of Saskatoon, SK; son JJ (Tricia) Del Castillo of Saskatoon, SK; daughter Jacqueline Del Castillo of L.A., California, USA; son Jefferson of the Philippines; daughter Janice of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA; grandsons Jordan and Jazeel of the USA, Julian, Jennesy, Jodeci and Jalize of Saskatoon, SK; granddaughter Jenelle of USA; numerous relatives in the Philippines. Your battle is now over, now you can rest. A special thanks goes to the Renal Unit, ICU and the care team at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK., Dr. Kappell and all the doctors and nurses. Words cannot express our thanks enough. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, October 16th, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway crossing).
