Arthur MYSAK

Arthur Mysak June 30, 1922 October 10, 2009 Arthur passed away peacefully at Wynyard following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Victoria; daughter Joanne (William Shrubsole) and granddaughters Lindsey Shrubsole and Caitlin Shrubsole; brother Orest Mysak (Mary), sister-in-law Bernie Mysak (Walter); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth Mysak, brothers Walter and Steve Mysak and sister Olga Ball. Arthur was loved and respected by all he knew. He greeted all warmly with a smile. He farmed in the Perryville district all his life and operated a business in Punnichy and Raymore for ten years. He served on the Board of Directors for Punnichy Co-op, Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, Round Plain Community Telephone Company and was a supporter of Cooperative Implement Services. He was recently honoured for these commitments through invitation to participate in the Punnichy 100 year celebration parade. He was proud of the area and its historical prominence. An avid antique collector, he restored many pieces and placed them in historical remembrance. Art's passion for the land and agriculture made him a leader in farming practices in the area. He maintained awareness of current affairs and the potential impact on rural and agricultural life. He was one of the first in the area to incorporate diversified farming practices and new crop varieties. He mentored many newer farmers in innovative farming practices and equipment advances. He was proud of their successes. His passion inspired many of the nieces and nephews that visited the farm, often a stay of a few days evolved in return trips on summer holidays for extended time. Arthur valued education while he taught many about farming he always encouraged all to develop, use and achieve their potential no matter their life choice. Arthur's generous spirit was shared with all. He helped neighbours and friends with anything he could harvesting, seeding, road clearing. He had a passion for life, strong values and respect for all, be they family, neighbours or international hunters. He will be lovingly missed by family and friends. Visitation and viewing Friday October 16 at 7:00 pm at St Albert the Great Catholic Church. Funeral service will be Saturday October 17 at 11:00 A.M. in Punnichy at St Albert the Great Catholic Church, Rev Shirley Kamphuis officiating. Reception will follow.
