G. A. Otto GOLDALMER

GOLDALMER - G.A. (Otto) September 24, 1921 - September 24, 2009 Otto's friends and family are sad to announce his passing on September 24, 2009 in the afternoon of his 88th birthday, at Surrey Memorial Hospital, after a long attempt at recovery from a devastating car accident near Obregon, Mexico in November 2008. Otto is survived by his son Bernd Boch, his daughter-in-law Walli and granddaughter Nadja who reside in Kiel, Germany. Otto was born in Kreuzburg, Germany and joined the German Merchant Marine and German Army where he served during WWII. He immigrated to Canada in the late 1950's and was employed by an industrial remote site catering company. Otto installed and managed many facilities for his company as he travelled extensively throughout British Columbia in the 50's and 60's. He became principal of the marketing and sales department and retired there from. Otto's love for travel took him all over the world. He explored most of the longest rivers and largest lakes on all continents. He made friends wherever he went. He will be sadly missed by many. Otto was a proud member of Ancient Light Lodge No. 88, and Scottish Rite and will be missed by the many brethren and friends at both lodges. We wish to thank all the staff at San Jose Hospital in Obregon, MX, the intensive care staff at Royal Columbian Hospital and many staff members at Surrey Memorial Hospital, all who were involved in helping Otto survive his injuries. There will be a burial in the Masonic tradition at 1:30 P.M. at the Masonic cemetery 4305 Halifax Street, Burnaby, BC on Tuesday, October 6th, 2009. On Friday, October 16th, 2009, there will be a gathering of Otto's friends and family for a Celebration of Life at 12:00 Noon at the Beach Grove Golf Club, 5946 - 12th Ave., Tsawwassen (Delta), BC.
