HOPTION Ted Wong January 5, 1923 - October 10, 2009 Ted passed away peacefully at Columbus Residence, Vancouver, with his loving wife Phyllis and dog Max at his side. He was the eldest of nine siblings, predeceased by his parents, brothers Jack, Kenneth, Ernest and sister Maude. He will be dearly missed by Phyllis, son Terry (Grace), siblings (Hilda, Evangeline, Maureen and Gordon), in-laws (David, Benito and Peggy) and numerous nephews and nieces. He was the first Chinese student accepted in Johannesburg Medical School. He practised medicine in Hong Kong and Singapore, retiring to Vancouver in 1984. In retirement, he served the community through church and other volunteer programs. Tennis was one of his passions. A service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, October 18th at the First Baptist Church, 969 Burrard Street, Vancouver at 3 pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated.
