ZOOBKOFF Gladys It is with great sorrow and sadness that we say goodbye to a daughter, sister, and friend. Gladys Zoobkoff lifts her Angel Wings and flies to her new resting place. Born in Nelson on June 9, 1957, and died October 6, 2009 surrounded by her circle of friends and family, she was youngest daughter of Fred and Tannis Zoobkoff. Tragically, her mother passed away just 2 days later, on October 8, 2009. Gladys is predeceased by sister Nettie Poohachoff and dad Fred. She is survived by brother Peter (Audrey), sister Kathy (Bryan) and nieces and nephews Connie, Nicky, Brian, Blaine, Corrine, Michelle and Bryan. Gladys fought an incredibly valiant battle with quiet dignity, class and stoicism. She cultivated an incredible circle of lifetime friendships until the end: Mary M, Marion, Verna S, Verna P, Sylvia, Darlene, Sylvia, Inga, Karen I, Seta, Rona, Maria, Marianne, Joanne, and Ziggy. Gladys gave her all and then some with family and friends as well as in her work in the hospitality industry and in Blonde Retro. Please join us for a graveyard service at Surrey Center Cemetery, on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 2:30 pm followed by a Gathering at her sister's home as per Gladys' wishes. Words cannot describe how much we are going to miss her. Rest in Peace. Gladys requested no flowers; however donation can be made to St. Paul's Hospital, Palliative Care Unit in her name.
