HURKETT, Florence "Opal" passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2008 in Victoria, BC. Predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Larry; sisters Beatrice and Reva and brothers Arthur and Jack Survived by daughter Jeannette (Dave); son Jack (Janet); grandchildren Robin (Jim), Michael, Sarah, and Steven; and 4 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews across Canada. Opal was a feisty woman with a great sense of humour. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A special thank you to the staff at Birch Cottage, Heritage Woods for all their care and loving kindness. A Memorial Tea will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 317 Goldstream Avenue, Colwood, BC on Saturday, November 22, 2008 between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
