MOUNTFORD-BLACK, Mary Irene (nee Cook) December 9, 1928 November 11, 2008 Peacefully at her Edmonton home in her 79th year, Irene is welcomed in heaven by her father and mother, Maurice and Eleanor Cook. Survived by her loving children Brian (Kathy), Larry, Ross, Anne (Dan) and Grant (Patricia); her five grandchildren Jeremy (Yuki), Heather (Alex), Cole, Sarah and Aaron; and her younger siblings Harold (Patricia), Joyce, Margaret (Jim) and June. Irene will be forever missed by her large extended family and her numerous friends. Irene touched many lives throughout her life with her unconditional love, courage, strength, neverending generosity, and curiosity about the world around her. Her devotion to family, friends and to the United Church inspired many others and she will be greatly missed. Irene's life will be celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. at McClure United Church, 13708 74 Street NW, Edmonton, AB.
