KEALTY Tim After a long and courageous battle against cancer, Tim passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 14. Predeceased by his father Maurice (2001), brother Brian (1982), and sister Ann (2009), he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by Judy, his wife of 28 years, his daughters Allison and Meredith, his mother Jean, his brothers Michael (Brenda), Kevin (Debbie), Patrick, and Sean (Caralee), his sister-in-law Donna (Stan), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be fondly remembered by his many friends and coworkers at IBM, and by the countless friends and neighbours he touched with his kindness, generosity, and sense of humour over the years. Born in Verdun, QC, Tim graduated with a BSc in Mathematics from Loyola College (now Concordia University) in 1971. After a year of teaching, Tim joined IBM in Toronto in 1973, and began a career that gave him the opportunity to showcase his talents for marketing and innovation. His many friends and coworkers at IBM were very important to him, and his optimism, mentorship and sense of humour garnered him much respect and admiration from his colleagues. Whether he was working in Toronto, Winnipeg, or finally Vancouver, he made good friends and wonderful memories everywhere he went. His marriage to Judy in 1981 brought him a disco partner, a lifelong love, and two daughters. Tim's daughters were his pride and joy. He was a soccer coach for eight years, and touched the lives of many with his patience and relentless encouragement. Diagnosed with cancer in 2004, Tim never let on how difficult it was to deal with the disease. His doctors and nurses only confirmed what his family and friends have known for years - he had the true fighting Irish spirit. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18 at Highlands United Church, 100 Edgemont Boulevard, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation in support of the North Shore Hospice ( www.lghfoundation.com ) would be greatly appreciated.
