He grew up as a young boy during the Second World War when the inner city of Rotterdam was completely bombed out. At that time the children were attending boarding school in the countryside. Mark Blom OMI of Southend, SK and Paul (Jennifer); grandsons, Quaid and Lex Blom of outside Edmonton. At 38 years of age Tony experienced spiritual conversion in the charismatic renewal and became very involved in serving God, witnessing his faith and encouraging others to know God. Tony trusted in the Lord in all things and especially as he struggled with emphysema. He never wavered and endured patiently to the end.
