Herwarth THUMANN

HERWARTH (HENRY) THUMANN February 27, 1930 October 15, 2009 Henry passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at City Hospital at the age of 79 years. A Prayer service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 8:15 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish. A Funeral mass will take place on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK. Lunch will follow. Henry was born in Germany in 1930. He learned the trade of goldsmithing as a young adult. In 1952 he moved to Canada. He spent many years goldsmithing in Saskatoon. Henry met and married Rita Lacoursiere in 1963 in Saskatoon where they spent 46 years of married life and raised four children. Henry had keen interests in music, cycling, kayaking and photography. He enjoyed singing in Holy Spirit choir. Henry is survived by his loving family: his wife Rita; three daughters: Angela (Kevin) Keswick, Lauretta Thumann (Ken McWhirter), Katherine Thumann (Alan Leugner) and one son Rene Thumann; seven grandchildren: Kimberly, Michelle, Meghan, Dylan, Cara, Christie and Ian. He will be remembered by numerous brother and sisters-in-law; as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Karl and Katherina Thumann; his sister, Kathe (Fritz) Kalle; his brother, Karl Thumann. Arrangements entrusted to MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (934-4888).
