Betty Merrilees DARIMONT

DARIMONT Betty Merrilees December 3, 1918 - October 7, 2009 Betty passed away peacefully with family by her side after fighting health complications for a number of courageous months. She will be missed dearlyby her children: Paul, Suzanne, Taylore, Michelle; grandchildren: Chris, John, Jonathan, Jenny, Daaniele, Amber, Kelly; former husband George; cousin Barbara; niece Cynthia (and family). We will remember Betty for her feisty but dignified, graceful personality and sense of humour. Betty was a romantic at heart and loved ballroom dancing and men with dark hair and mustaches. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and looked forward to a good game of bridge. Betty had a flair for style and always dressed smartly with her trademark beret of either purple, black or grey. A wise, loving, generous and kind woman, she dedicated a large portion of her life to raising four children and instilled in them the values that are important in life. Betty was quoted as saying, "It is important to be kind to others _ you will be surprised at the results." Our thanks and gratitude to Betty's past neighbours and friends who were there to lend a hand over the years. A special thanks to Yaletown House, Betty's home for the past six years, where she was lovingly cared for by staff and volunteers - your support and friendship made such a difference in her life. We would also like to thankall the wonderful caregivers at St. Pauls Hospital, especially those involved in the Palliative Care Unit who supported us in the final hours. No service by request.
