HEATHER Clista Elaine Passed away peacefully on October 13, 2009 at the age of 91. She is survived by her children, Marilynn, Steve, Doug, and Daniel and her grandchildren Monica and Steven. She was predeceased by her husband Guy Robert Heather, who died in 1996. She was born in Vulcan, Alberta in 1918 and had four siblings: Roy, Mae, Ila, and Margaret, all predeceased. She moved to Vancouver as a young woman. She met her future husband, Guy, here and became a long-time resident of Dunbar Heights. Later, they moved to Kitsilano and lived on Maple Street for many years. An avid bowler, she played in leagues for many years at the Varsity Ridge Bowl. She also enjoyed reading, going for walks, and having a mug-up at one of her favorite cafes. She worked for many years, most notably in the accounting department of Scotiabank. Upon retirement, they fulfilled their lifetime dream of visiting England. In the last months of her life, the Broadway Pentecostal Lodge was her home. We would like to thank the staff there for the constant care and kindness they showed her. We would also like to make a special mention of her niece, Luella Lind, who was devoted to Mom and has been of enormous help to the family over the years and especially during this difficult time. Mom was dearly loved by many people and will be greatly missed. There will be a Celebration of Life service on October 21st at 11 am at the Dunbar Heights United Church. In lieu of flowers, please give to the VGH + UBC Hospital Fund. Published in the Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from 10/17/2009- 10/18/2009
