REE Angus Creelman, Q.C. August 28, 1929 - October 9, 2009 Angus passed away peacefully Friday at Peace Arch Hospital. He is survived by his daughter Deanna (Michael) Marti, and sons Scott Ree and Cameron (Geraldine) Ree, seven grandchildren, his sisters, Mary, Gail and Janet, his dear friend Gail Austin, and many family members and friends. Angus was born in Vancouver and attended Lord Byng Secondary School followed by UBC. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1953. After serving in the Canadian Army, he was admitted to the Bar in 1956 and practiced as a corporate lawyer until entering politics in 1979. He represented the North Vancouver-Capilano riding as a B.C. MLA from 1979 to 1991. In 1988/89 he served as B.C.'s first Solicitor General. His favorite past-times were working in the yard and a good game of cribbage. Angus always had a kind word for strangers and was eager to give back to the community. He spent his last years driving for the BC Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held on November 21, 2009 at 2 pm at Celebration Hall, Mountain View Cemetery, 5455 Fraser Street, Vancouver where he was laid to rest.
