WHITLOCK Charles "Cecil" Passed away at the age of 91 in Victoria on September 15, 2009, following a stroke. Son of Charles Matthews and Elizabeth Allen Whitlock, Cec was predeceased by the love of his life, Eleanor, and brother David, and is survived by his son Robert, grandchildren Gregg and Kristina and niece Murial (Ron) and nephew Ron (Lori). Cec was born in Muscow, Sask., educated at universities in Sask., Vancouver and Montreal, leading first to a career as a school teacher and principal in Sask. and BC. His final degree was in librarianship, which led to work at the Carnegie Branch of the Vancouver Public Library, where he met his wife of 53 years. In 1962, Dad took on the position of head librarian at Royal Roads Military College, where he worked until his retirement in 1983. He then enjoyed many years working with wood and stained glass at the Juan de Fuca Seniors Centre. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Martin Lane and all the staff on the 6th Floor South Tower of Victoria General Hospital for their kind attention. Thanks to Janet for her care and attention for Dad since Mom died in 2005. No service at Dad's request. Dad and Mom will be joined again.
