K. OSACHOFF

OSACHOFF K August 26, 1942 - October 5, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of K, at the Boundary Hospital, in Grand Forks, B.C. with his family at his side. K is survived by his loving wife Joyce, sons Darryl, and Ryan (Michelle), Sister-in-law Mary of Cranbrook, Nieces Bev of Richmond, Shelly Makaoff (Frank, son Tyler) of Richmond, Sheena (Ian) of Vernon and Aunty Lucy Popoff of Shoreacres, numerous cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. K was born in Nelson, B.C. at the Kootenay General Hospital. His early ambitions were involved with studies at the Kootenay School of Fine Art in Nelson and the San Miguel Instituto de Allende, Guanajuato Mexico. The progressive artistic enjoyment assisted K with his career in the mining industry at the Phoenix and Granisle copper mines. K always held close the love and pride felt for his family, while growing up in Slocan Park, career years in Granisle and the relaxing time in Grand Forks. He had taken pleasure remembering the many friends and acquaintances along the way. K will always be remembered and truly missed as a kind, honest and loving man who wittingly added a twist of humour to all of life's challenges. May he continue to "whistle" while enjoying his next chapter. Predeceased by father Nick, mother Helen and elder brother Paul. Funeral services were held at the Gospel Chapel, in Grand Forks on October 9, 2009. Interment was held at the Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, K's wishes were to support, by donation, the "Jean C. Barber Lodge" at the B.C. Cancer Agency's, Vancouver Cancer Center, 575 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 4C3.
