Richard David PAYNE

PAYNE, Richard David January 14, 1946 November 12, 2008 Rick passed away peacefully in Hospice, after a long struggle with liver disease. Beloved son of Ross and Win Payne, and big brother to Colleen (Rod), Brian (Wendy) and Martin (Catherine). Father of Jason, David and Shannon and former husband/partner to Denise, Maureen and Coralee. Predeceased by his mother in March of this year. Rick was a carpenter, as his father and grandfather before him, and was proud to be involved in the construction of the luge run at the Calgary Winter Olympics. Inquisitive, and bright, Rick loved the west coast woods, his gold claim, his computer and ice cream. He never saw something broken that he didn't believe he could fix given enough tape and enough time. We are very grateful for the wonderful care and respect that Rick received over the past year from Community Health nurses, Cool-Aid Society at Hillside Terrace and the staff and volunteers at Hospice. We mourn his loss and will forever remember the best of his unique spirit and individuality.
