HARRY ROBERT EICHEL passed away on September 13, 2009 at the Lodge in Kindersley where he was temporarily residing. Dad was born on the 13th of January, 1925 in Eston, Sask. He was raised on the family farm south of Madison, Sask. He took his schooling at Longridge School up to Grade 10 and then went to Madison to complete Grades 11 and 12. In May of 1942, at the age of 17, Dad joined the Air Force and finished his flight training in May of 1945; he never got into action overseas. Dad married Ethel Threlkeld on July 16, 1946. They lived in Regina prior to moving to the Threlkeld farm in the spring of 1947. They farmed there for 41 years, enjoying both livestock and grain farming. Dad's life was never quite the same when he lost Mom, his life partner, in January, 2003. Dad was also predeceased by his parents Harris & Eva Eichel, brothers George and Carl Eichel, sisters Helen Hewlitt and Margaret Francis and son-in-law Bill Thompson. He was also predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law Ivy Eichel, Bill Hewlitt, Russell Francis and Keith MacKinnon. Surviving are: his sister, Mary MacKinnon, and sister-in-law Zella Eichel; his children Doug Eichel (Jeanette), Diane Collins (Keith), Brenda Fischer (Harvey), Shirley Japp (Kerry); his ten grandchildren, Regan (Geoff) Horn, Trista (Lee) Gallant, Keir Collins, Vaughan (Kim) Collins, Dallas (Brandi) Thompson, Duane (Stephanie), Billie Jean (Joe) Mepham, Mitchell (Leah) Japp, Marsha Japp (Todd), Angela Japp; his nine great grandchildren, Chase, Layne, Nate Gallant, Drew, Ayla Collins, Seth and Emma Thompson, Reece and Rylee Mepham.
