VACLAV SLADEK (MAY 16, 1942 OCTOBER 16, 2009) Vaclav was born in Prague, Czech Republic in 1942. He left his birth place in 1981 in search of a better life for his children and himself. He arrived in Canada in March 1982 with his three children, Gabriela, Vaclav Jr., and Martin. Vaclav was best known for his neverending sense of humor which he used to share his happiness with all those who surrounded him. Somehow, even in the most of serious situations, he always found something to laugh about. Vaclav was also known for his artistic talent and the creation of his one of a kind marionettes which he sold at craft shows throughout North America. Vaclav had a self-proclaimed good life his greatest joys included traveling, building a cabin at Turtle Lake, and spending time with his family and friends. Vaclav will be deeply missed and forever loved by all those who were close to him and loved him dearly, especially Louise, Cristy, Tyler, Gabriela, Vaclav Jr., and Martin. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the Prairie View Chapel on Highway 11 South, Saskatoon.
