BAKEWELL-Gerald (Jerry) passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 16, 2008 at age of 68 years. Jerry was born in Lumsden, SK on June 11, 1940 to parents Henry and Edith Bakewell. He married Lois (nee Powers) in April of 1964, after which they made their home in Regina and enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Jerry was involved in trucking all his working life and greatly enjoyed his career. He loved camping and fishing and spent many summer weekends with Lois and his nieces, Shauna and Brooke, at the lake. Jerry is predeceased by his sister Alice Rennick and brother-in-laws: Wally Rennick, Bill Nicholson, Ralph Reiter & Leonard Schmitke. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lois; sister: Mae Reiter, Dorothy Nicholson, Jean Schmitke, Anne (Gordon) Zuber; brother George (Hazel) Bakewell; brotherin-law; Bill (Sharon) Powers; sister-in-law, Sharron Powers; as well as numerous special nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews. Jerry will also be greatly missed by his special little girl, Hunter. Jerry touched the lives of many and his memory will live forever. His sharp wit and special humor will be remembered by all. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held Friday, November 21, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Regina Humane Society, Pasqua Palliative Care Unit or the Canadian Cancer Society. Published in the Regina Leader-Post on 11/19/2008
