Caroline Mary GEORGE

OLD-Caroline Mary Old, Caroline Mary (nee George) passed away on November 15 at Craik Health Centre with daughter Gloria at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Noble (Ted), brothers Peter and Carl, sister Eleanor and son-in-law Gerry Zdunich. She is survived by her daughter Gloria and her five daughters, Lana Zdunich, Rhea and Reagan Rude; Lisa Zdunich; Lavonne Zdunich; Lorlee (Todd) Cole, Cooper, Camille and Chance Cole; Leah (Velon) Herback, Hunter, Halle, and Hayla Herback. Ione (Rick) Hooper and their children Christopher, Emma and Erin Hooper. Lee Old (Jim) Nykoliation and their children Mark and Lesia Nykoliation. Bobbette Old (Al Eden) and Dawn, James, Christopher and Ashley. Caroline was born February 23, 1918 in Kenaston, daughter of Nic George and Mary Powell. Caroline was third in a family of four: Peter, Carl and Eleanor. The family lived on a farm in the Zid district. Much time was spent on music: Peter on banjo, Carl on violin and Eleanor and Caroline on piano. Schools attended by Caroline were Zid, Kenaston High, Saskatoon Sion and Normal School. She taught school at Chatham, Gopherdale, Strongfield, Chamberlain and Regina. She was the organist at Kenaston and Davidson Catholic Church for 35 years. She was a charter member of the Catholic Women's League. In 1948 Ted and Caroline were married in St. Augustine Church in Regina. They raised their four daughters in Davidson. After retirement Ted and Caroline devoted much time to their family They also spent time traveling, touring Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada from coast to coast. The family would like to thank Dr. Maree, Dr. Lang, Dr. Lichenwold and the wonderful staff at the Craik Health Centre. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Davidson Cemetery or Kenaston Cemetery. The funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Davidson on Friday November 21 at 10:00 a.m. Prayers are to be held at Sacred Heart Church Thursday November 20 at 7:30 p.m. Hanson's Funeral Home of Davidson in care of arrangements.
