MINIONS , James Robert (Jim) December 19, 1934 - October 31, 2009 Jim died peacefully at his home on October 31, 2009. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-two years, Donna, his five children, Michael (Anne-Marie), Stephen (Lesa), David (Ruth), Peter (Tara), Leslie (Ian) and his brother John. He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren Elizabeth, Nikolas, Alex, Adrian, Genevieve, Sarah, Patricia, Christina, Carmanah, Calvin, Willa, and his cherished relatives Ron and Joan. Born in Brandon, MB, Jim grew up in Neepawa. He graduated from Brandon College and had a long career as a geologist with Suncor Energy. Jim played hockey all his life and enjoyed his games with the Brandon College Caps, the Calgary Oldtimers, his sons at Friday Night Hockey and his grandchildren at the Boxing Day Game. He and Donna skated with the Optimist Seniors' Group. An active volunteer, he coached soccer and hockey for the Lakeview community. After retiring, he shared his passion for sports by attending his grandchildren's many hockey and soccer games. Jim was an avid gardener, birder, reader, wine aficionado, and cook. Following Jim's wishes, a private family Memorial will be held. The family would like to extend their thanks to the palliative care team and Dr. Deanna Campbell. Honour Jim's memory by taking a walk, puttering in the garden or playing some hockey with friends.
