KOPALA, Hannah Passed away peacefully, at Kelowna General Hospital, on October 26, 2009 at the age of 81. Hannah was born July 8, 1928 in Coal Creek, B.C. and moved at a young age to Vancouver, B.C. where she eventually met Chester Kopala. They married November 12, 1954. In the early 1960s they moved to Edmonton, Alberta where their daughter, Cindy, came into their lives. In 1967, Hannah helped her husband, Chester, and his business partner, Jack Dilworth, start a very successful Electrical Company: K & D Electric. In 1981 Hannah and Cindy moved to Vancouver where Hannah worked in retail and in 1987 became a loving grandma to her first granddaughter: Laura. In 2003 Hannah moved to Kelowna to be with her family and spent the majority of her remaining days looking after her two youngest granddaughters: Michelle and Miranda. Hannah is survived by her daughter: Cindy; son-in-law: Larry; granddaughters: Laura, Michelle and Miranda; niece and husband: Gloria and Frank; along with their sons and families; and several other family members. Hannah was predeceased by her parents: Mary Anne and Walter Haile; brother: Walter Haile; sisters: Dorothy Holmes and Nora Cookhouse. Hannah was a loving mom, grandma, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kelowna General Hospital Foundation. Hannah repeatedly said how wonderful the staff there was to her, as were the ambulance drivers, and how much she wanted them all to know she appreciated it. A Celebration of Life will be held in the gathering room, of the apartment building where she lived, at 780 Houghton Road on Thursday, November 5th at 10:30 a.m. Everyone welcome.
