FLOREK Pauline June 4, 1919 October 30, 2009 With our love and sorrow we announce the passing of our dearest mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt to many nieces and nephews. On Friday, October 30, 2009, Pauline Florek, widow of Adolph Andrew Florek, Glenavon, SK. and of late the Lakeside Nursing Home, Wolseley, SK., died at the age of 90 years. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Glenavon, SK., on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. By Rev. Ed Hengen. Interment in the parish cemetery. Prayers will be held in the church Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Aguinaldo Fermo officiating. Predeceased by parents, John and Anna Koziol (nee Kachmar), husband, Adolph in 1999, an infant son at birth, all twelve of her siblings, (she lived to be the eldest) and son-in-law, Tony Sikora. Pauline is survived by her three children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: daughter Edna Sikora, Winnipeg, MB., and her family, Carla (Darryl) Mroz, Matt, Drew and Aaron, Beausejour, MB.; Melissa (Jeff) Kowalchuk, Brayden and Ari, Selkirk, MB.; and Sheryl (Peter) Lohaza, Hannah and Tamara, Winnipeg, MB.; son, Bernie Florek, Glenavon, Sk.; son, Edwin (Wanda) Florek, Salmon Arm, B.C.; and their family, Dana (Blair) Bolster, Riley, Levi, Jacob, Logan Lake, B.C.; Jamie (Jessica Frei) Kelowna, B.C. Pauline is also survived by a special niece, Stella Kozal, Edmonton, AB., whom she raised as one of her own, as well as her in-laws, John Bueckert, Mildred and Isadore Florek, Vicky Krupski, Vicky Florek and Anne Florek. Pauline was born and raised in Goodeve, SK. In June of 1943, she married Adolph and moved to the farm in Glenavon where she remained until her stroke three years ago. Following her stroke, she then resided in the Lakeside Nursing Home. Pauline was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who put everyone's needs before her's. She loved to have her family come home to visit and loved to hear of the accomplishments of her grandchildren and the antics of her great grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker and seamstress. She could sew anything from Barbie doll clothes to mens suits. Her passion was gardening and flowers. She had the greatest green thumb ever. In her younger years she was also an active member of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary CWL. Our gratitude to the nurses and staff of Lakeside for their compassionate care in these last few weeks of her life. If friends so desire, contributions to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary R.C.
