Pat ALOFS

ALOFS, Pat November 2, 2002 All Souls Day. Pat called this morning. She sounded younger than ever. When I told her that she replied "That's what happens when you enter St. Peter's Gate." She says the Long Family, her mom, dad, who was a pharmacist in Windsor in the 1930's and her brother Bill meet daily for lunch and try to send positive energy to family and friends to help them bring a smile to everyone they encounter on a daily basis. David, our son says she still visits the Windsor Casino as he feels her presence as he does his job there. She is so proud of the Alofs clan for their efforts to Find A Cure For Cancer in Our Lifetime which included a 2 day walk in Toronto recently. The walk raised over 11 million dollars to help find a cure. They all said the walk was tougher than running. She was also so pleased her grandson Jay Bondy and his wife Linda raised over $2,000 in their backyard event for cancer research. I told her how pleased I was to meet some of school teacher friends at a Mass and gathering September 16 for a friend Father Rocco. My remark to them was they never seem to grow older. Received several smiles and hugs for that one. She asked me to pass on to one and all, to have a healthy, happy year ahead and to remember Becoming is Superior to Being and God Bless.
