PEARL ISABELLE RAE (nee Tripp) October 4, 1909 November 1, 2009 The family of Pearl Rae are saddened to announce her passing on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Luther Special Care Home at the age of 100 years. Pearl was born October 4, 2009 in Dunfermline District, west of Saskatoon. She was one of eight children and attended school at Bridgeford and Asquith. She married Umphray Rae on July 17, 1930; they lived in Harwood district for 10 years, moving to Carlton, SK in 1940 and then to Saskatoon in 1957. Pearl resided in Borden Care Home, Borden, SK until August 2006 and finally in Luther Special Care Home. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Umphray October 4, 1962; her parents Sarah and Daniel Tripp; sister Edna, brothers Daniel, Bruce, Herb, David, and Bill. She is survived by daughter Joyce and her husband Harvey Welch; granddaughter Shannon Welch and her husband Jean-Francois Dionne, and great-grandchildren Nadeige and Torin, all of Saskatoon. She is also survived by Sister Hazel Haroldson; sistersin-law Velma and Vera Tripp and numerous nieces and nephews. Pearl was hard working as a clerk and cashier in various stores; working in food services at St. Andrews College and Lutheran Seminary until retiring. She was an immaculate housekeeper, a great seamstress and an ardent painter of landscapes in oil. Above all, Pearl was a fine gardener, delighting in her flower and vegetable garden. Many thanks to the staff at Borden Care Home and Luther Special Care Home for their loving care and patience and devoted kindness to the very end. Those wishing to attend the Interment Service are invited to meet at the entrance gates to Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Borden Care Home (Box 155, Borden, SK S0K 0N0) or Luther Special Care Home (1212 Osler Street, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0T9).
