Joan WOODS

COOPER Joan (nee Woods) Born on August 16, 1918 in Victoria, BC, Joan passed away on October 30 at the Richmond General Hospital, age 91. The youngest and last surviving of 8 children born to Archibald and Alice Woods. In 1974, Joan was predeceased by Jack Cooper her husband of 32 years. She is survived by her sons Ron (Linda) and Brad (Bev); her grandchildren Shannon (Jason), Mathew (Lori), Ryan (Janel), John (Marget), Brieanna (Steve), and Kimberly (Tim) and her great-grandchildren Tylar, Jaedan, Dylan, Madison, Caitlin, Daniel, Avery and Jackson. She will also be missed by friends at Applegreen Park where she has lived for the past 36 years; her sister-in-law and good friend Dorothy Corry; the Bennett/Androsoff family and her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. You and the staff at RGH for their tender care over her last few days and Dr. Peter Quelch for his care over the past 30 years. A strong, healthy, independent woman her entire life, Joan possessed beauty both inside and out. She enjoyed golfing, bridge and happy hours. Always with a sharp wit, a great sense of humour and thoughtful consideration of those she knew, she was "the best of friends and the very best of Moms". A Viewing will be held Thursday, November 5 from 3-8pm at Fraser Heights Chapel, 14835 Fraser Hwy, Surrey.
