WEDGE, Luke Anthony November 1939 October 2009 B.C. Ferry Captain, Tug Boat Operator, Small Business Entrepreneur, Artist, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Best Friend and Compadre to his partner, Luke passed away with dignity after a long struggle on October 18, 2009, feeling strongly he'd had a wonderful life. His kindness and unique sense of humour touched so many. The yearly gunkholing forays upcoast in his beloved boat "Curlew " and later, "Mutual Satisfaction " as well as the annual RV-ing and motorbiking into the wilderness areas of, in particular, Arizona and Mexico, gave him innumerable experiences in freedom and exploration. He leaves sons Bruce (Galen), Jaime (Annette) and Kip (Lupeta); daughters June (Michael) and Renee (predeceased); granddaughter Rachelle (Blair); grandson Axcel; great-grandsons Braiden and Derek; brother Paul (Charlotte) and his sidekick of 22 years, Shelagh. You will be so missed Luke, by all close to you. Our lives will not be the same without you. "There is nothing ... Absolutely nothing Half so much worth doing As simply messing around in boats. " (K.G.) Very many thank yous to the Drs. and Staff of the Acute Renal Unit of the Jubilee and the Dr. and Caregivers of Central Care. You were all so helpful and sustaining to us all. No Service by request. Anyone who may wish a conversation, please feel free to call 598-2728. 567295 Published in the Victoria Times-Colonist on 11/3/2009
