FILIPPELLI Emilia Maria November 5, 1917 - October 29, 2009 Our mother passed away peacefully into the hands of our Lord on October 29th surrounded by friends, family and prayers of comfort. She was born on November 5, 1917 in Dipignano, Pr. Cosenza, Italy and immigrated to Canada in May 1952 with 3 children to join her husband. She was predeceased by her loving husband Giuseppe after 61 years of marriage on October 31, 2002. She leaves behind to eternally remember and love her, sons Frank (Janet), Giovanni (Cathy) and Mary, grandchildren Tim, Paul (Kirsten), Maria (Enzo Figliuzzi), John (Donna), Vince Rocchetti and Michael and great-grandchildren Vincent, Catherine, Dario and Quinn. Mother's journey of life was long and sometimes difficult but throughout she smiled and lived a simple life taking the greatest pleasures from family, friends, home and especially her grand and great-grandchildren. A very special thanks to caregivers Phoebe, Joy and Joyce for the dedication, love and respect you provided, you were considered our extended family. The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Jack Burak and most recently Dr. Daniel Dodek for their support, care and understanding. Prayers will be offered on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 8:00 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 555 S. Slocan Street, Vancouver. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 6 at 1:00 pm with entombment to follow at the South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby.
