MAKEPEACE, George 91 years. Died on November 2, 2009 at Hospice Village. Predeceased by his wife Bette Makepeace (Feb. 28, 2007). Loving father of the late Karen (Jan. 31, 2006) & husband Gary Lacey, Susan & husband Jim Wigle, Jill & husband Dan Marontate, Kevin Makepeace, Gaye & husband Brian McGee. Precious Papa of Cindy, Jim, Chris, Kelly, Tracey, Tara, Ben, Matthew, Danny, Jeff & Bethany. Great Papa to 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Levis, Emily Mountbleau, Jessie Perreault and Myrtle Slawson. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family & friends. George was a member of the RCAF during WWII. He retired from Seagrams after over 29 years of dedicated service. George was also a member of the Moose Lodge, R. C. L. Branch 594. Wednesday Morning retiree's Bowling League, Retiree's Golf League Wildwood. George was an original board member who founded the A.M.A. arena. He coached Minor Hockey in Amherstburg for many years as well as baseball in Malden Township & Amherstburg. Visiting at the JAMES H. SUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 401 Sandwich St. South, Amherstburg (519-736-2134) on Thursday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Anglican Church, 317 Ramsey Street, Amherstburg. Rev. Bill Strang officiating. (Please note: family & friends are requested to meet directly at the church for the 10:30 a.m. service.) Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
