HOLMAN , Velma (nee Oja) Velma Elvira Holman of Cedars Villa, Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Velma was born in Port Arthur on April 3, 1918. She attended Central School, PACI and North Bay Teachers' College. Velma taught until she married Albert Holman in 1941. In the 1950's Velma returned to work as a supply teacher for the Port Arthur School Board. As a dedicated wife, mother and teacher Velma had a full and rewarding life. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Don) Gustafson, sons Roy (Karen) and Robert of Calgary; four grandchildren, Leslie (London) and Carl Gustafson; Carly and Chelsea Holman (Calgary) and three great-granddaughters, Asia and Evah Gustafson and Charlotte Davey (London). Velma was predeceased by her husband Albert and her parents Knut and Sandra Oja. A Memorial Service for Velma Holman will be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario at a future date.
