NAGY Judith (Juci) Of Vancouver, BC, October 29, 2009 at age 86 after a two month illness. Predeceased by her beloved husband Geza and son Andrew. Survived and already missed by son John; daughters-in-law Laura and Anne; grandkids Marc, Michael, Nicholas and Tamara; brother Paul Heber and sisters-in-law Els Heber and Eva Nagy; nephews Marc (Barbara) and Josh Heber and Suzanne (Neil) Falkeid and Joe (Glenna) Nagy. Mom's life was difficult in the beginning and the end but happy and fulfilling in the middle. Born between two world wars May 31, 1923, survived the second war but lost first husband Miklos Czigler in 1945. Pursued and eventually caught by that "playboy" Geza, she had Andy in 1948 and John in 1954. She survived the terror of the revolution and the Russian occupation. She packed up family and a mother-in-law and snuck out of Hungary arriving in Edmonton in 1956. Immediately started working for the Canadian Bank of Commerce because of her fluency in three languages. Moved to Vancouver and retired from the CIBC in 1986. After retirement she followed her passion for flowers by volunteering as a guide at VanDusen Botanical Garden. She also discovered a previously unknown talent for drawing and painting which she pursued with vigour at the Jewish Community Centre. Losing Andy far too young in 1985 and Dad in 1996 were the only really dark moments. A devoted and loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be profoundly missed. Special thanks to Dr. Sunshine, the other "love of her life" and to Dr. Chow and the staff at VGH for looking after her in her last days. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 7:00 PM in the Floral Hall at VanDusen Botanical Garden, 5251 Oak St. at 37th Ave., Vancouver, B.C.
