HORTON, Edward (1942-2004) Suddenly, on Monday, December 6, 2004, at the University Hospital in Vilnius, Lithuania. Survived by his loving wife Louise, daughter Sylva, companion Ania, brother John (Carolyn), and nephews Sean and Kevin. Predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Richard. Author, editor and member of the London publishing community for thirty years, Edward Horton was known throughout British illustrated publishing as an accomplished writer and as one of the finest book and partwork ed itors of his generation. Since his arrival in Vilnius from Britain in July, he has been credited with the flowering of magazine publishing in Lithuania, a country whose national aspirations and rich cultural life had captured his imagination. Born in Mindemoya, Manitoulin Island, the beloved son of James and Kathleen Horton, Edward grew up in Kingston, Ontario, attending Kingston Collegiate and Queen's University. Funeral was held in Vilnius, December 11. A Memorial Service will be held on Frida y, December 17, at St. Paul's, Covent Garden, London, England.
