MACLACHLAN, Helen Catherine After a courageous three year battle against a particularly virulent form of cancer (leiomyosarcoma) at the Providence Continuing Care Centre (St. Mary's of the Lake) on Friday, December 10, 2004. Helen Catherine Maclachla n, at the age of 42 years. Much loved by her father Lorne, stepmother Janet (predeceased by her mother Margaret), dear friend Daniel Hartley, brother Iain, sister-in-law Lisa, sisters Jane Spicer (James) and Fiona Leibovic (Marcos), niece Margaret Le ibovic, nephews Simon Leibovic, Calum Spicer and Graham Spicer. Catherine was born in Kingston on May 31, 1962, attended Sydenham Public School, Victoria School, KCVI and St. Lawrence College. She worked at Providence Manor and at Rideaucrest. The fa mily wishes to thank Dr. Stewart and the doctors and staff at the Palliative Care Unit for their consideration and help. In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation will be immediate. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel (1900 John Counter Blvd. at Highway 2) on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 3 p.m. A reception to follow in the James Reid Reception Centre. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Kingston Regional Can cer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
