KEANE, Colm B, 03 August 1931 - 04 November 2009 Pratt & Whitney/DND Ret Member Hylands Golf Course (GGFH) The family of Colm B. Keane sadly announce his passing at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus 04 November 2009. Colm was born in Ballyferriter, County Kerry, Ireland to Eamonn and Katherine (Manning) Keane (O'Cathain). Colm is survived and painfully missed by his beloved Deanna (Gray), daughters Deirdre Keane (Jeffery Clift), Kerry Cavanagh (Wayne) Ann Hamaker (Ray) and stepdaughters Brenda Adams (Dale) Barbara Gardiner (Dave) Bev Gray (Mike Baillie). Also sadly missed by the mother of his children and cherished friend, Thelma Keane. Also very saddened by their loss are all of Colm's grandchildren: Lauren, Mathew, Riley, Taylor, Christopher, Melissa, Steven, Ceilidh, Markie, John and Keith and great-grandson, Aidan. Colm is also survived by his loving sister, Ita Fitzgerald (Michael) of Dingle, Co. Kerry and sister in-law Margaret Keane, Dublin, and many loving nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States, and Ireland. He will be particularly missed by his great supporters: Dr. Eamonn Keane and Deirdre Taylor (Blair), Toronto, Barry Hegarty (Gloria), USA, Dr Cliona O'Neal, Galway and Dr John Hegarty (Hilary), Dublin. Colm had a wealth of wonderful friends who will all miss him. Colm's family would particularly like to extend our heartfelt thanks and love to the outstanding and caring medical team of 6 SW Haematology/Oncology Wing General Campus. Visitation will be on Saturday November 7th from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at the Beechwood Cemetery National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, Ontario, followed by a service in the Sacred Space. Colm's ashes will be returned to his beloved home in Ireland in the spring.
