Edward LEVINS

OBITUARY Edward (Eddy) Levins Eddy passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2009 two months after his ninety-second birthday. He was a devoted husband to Elizabeth "Ella" Levins (nee Lumsden) for sixty-five years and a loving father to daughters Heather, Maureen and Donna and a second father to Maureen's husband, Tom. He will be dearly missed by his four grandchildren, Alexander and Andrew Pashley, Carl and Tara Waugh, great-grandchild Nathan and many nieces and nephews. Born in Montreal, the son of Mary Myles and Thomas Levins, he was predeceased by his wife Ella and his six brothers, Thomas, Teddy, Mike, John, Pat and Kevin. Eddy was very proud of his Irish heritage, converting family members and friends to Notre Dame (fighting Irish) supporters and fans. Prior to retirement, he was one of the founding members of the Baldwin Cartier School Commission on the West Island. After becoming a principal, he worked tirelessly to attract and develop teachers who would make a difference in the primary education provided to children. He will be most remembered and missed as a man of dignity, honour, humour, compassion and kindness. He will always remain in our hearts. The family wishes to thank Dr. Len Welik, caregivers Diane, Andre and the local staff of the CLSC and NOVA Hudson for their assistance and support in his later years. A memorial mass and service will be held at the Church of St. Thomas Aquinas at 413 Main Road, Hudson, Quebec on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 1 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lakeshore Cardinal Inc., 560 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, Quebec, H9S 2B3 (514-631-1511).
