LEJA, Jan Born Grodzisko, Poland, May 27th 1918 and died November 4th 2009, Victoria, BC. Survived and cherished by his wife Mary; his children: Nela; Kati & Stan; Mark & Allison; Clare & Rob; Gaby & Doug; and Joe & Kim; and his grandchildren: Matthew, Luke, Simon, Naomi and Jonathan Ashdown; Meg and Rebecca Leja; Anya and Jessica Leja; and Josiah Lamb; his brother Felek and wife Irka, his sisters-in-law Hania and Weronika; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He outlived his brothers Stanislaw, Franciszek, Wycenty and sister Maria. Prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 10th at 1803 Quadra St, Victoria. The funeral Mass will be at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, November 12th at St. Patrick's Church 2060 Haultain St,. Victoria. He was a kind and erudite man who endured many hardships and earned many honours. His family wish to thank all those who cared for him in his declining years, especially Dr. Gary Nielsen and the kind members of staff and friends at James Bay Care Centre.
