MACLEOD, J. PETER MD FRCP(C) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Macleod on Friday, November 6th, 2009 at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with cancer, borne with dignity. Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret for 45 years, dear father of Karen (Chris Worswick) and Ken (Lee); proud grandpa of Daniel and Aidan Worswick and Brodie Macleod. He was the son of the late Drs. Wendell Macleod and Jessie McGeachy. He will also be deeply missed by his sister Wendy McDonald (John), of Victoria, and their daughters, Joan, Sheila and Ruth. Peter was born in Montreal, but grew up in Halifax, Winnipeg and Saskatoon before returning to Montreal to study Medicine at McGill University. Post graduate training was done at McGill and Queens Universities and Albert Einstein Medical School in New York City. After seven years of practise in Montreal, he left Montreal for Ottawa in 1977 to work as a Respirologist at the Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa. He was the recipient of many accolades and awards and was highly respected and loved as a physician, teacher, mentor, volunteer and friend. A special thank you to the Carefor nurses, Debbie and the entire staff of 6SW, and the Palliative Care Team at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. on Friday, November 13th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
