MCGUIRE, Nora (nee Cox) Passed away peacefully at the Colonial Retirement Residence, Whitby on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late John Milburn McGuire. Loving mother of Stephen and his wife Vera. Loved Nan of Mark, Matthew and his wife Renata, Michael and his wife Ginny, Ryan and Paul, Great grandmother of Kierra, Andrew, Matthew and Lukas. Nora had retired from Government of Canada after a distinguished career in the civil service, was a past secretary to the ALS Society of Durham Region, and an active member of the Whitby Seniors. She will long be remembered for her flair, wit, joy for life, and welcoming ways. Nora will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. D. Ibsen and his staff for their relentless care, and to all the staff at the Colonial residence. Interment will take place at Capital Memorial Gardens (3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Nepean) on Saturday, November 21st at 2:00 P.M. As a remembrance, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234).
