HENDSBEE, David William Hendsbee, David William a Retired Chief Petty Officer First Class of the Canadian Armed Forces (Navy) in his 72nd year, after a courageous battle, passed away on November 11th 2009. Forever missed by his wife of 50 years Elizabeth "Betty" Hendsbee (nee Bambury); and sister Louisa Whitehouse (late husband Gordon). Myrtle Morse (husband John), Dorothy McCarthy (husband Charles) and predeceased by his brother George Hendsbee. He leaves behind a loving legacy as Dad to daughters Debbie Hendsbee (Gary Ostry) and Deanna Gostick (Chris Gostick) and son David Hendsbee Jr. (MayLynne). Loving grandfather to Kathleen, Michael, Alison, Alex and Morgan. For 32 years Dave sailed the world and continued that love of travel with his wife Betty after he retired. His life long dream of returning to Cuba was fulfilled. His love of hockey continued from his time as President of Shannon Heights Minor Hockey to watching and traveling with his grandson (Alex) through his hockey career. Special thank you to Dr. Archibauld who was not only his doctor but became his friend. Close friends and family are to gather for a Celebration of Life at Dad's Anchors Away Party at his home on Saturday November 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 434 Poppy Fund or the Navy Benevolent Society would be appreciated.
