John O. SPENCE

SPENCE, John O. "Jack" Born March 7th, 1923 completed his circle of life on Thursday November 12, 2009. Cherished husband of Louise (nee McDougall) for 66 years. Loving father of Pat Grona and husband Harry, Barbara Pahowski and her late husband John, Jackie Hendricks and husband Bob, Stuart Spence and Les Spence and wife Carol. Jack will be dearly remembered and missed by his grandchildren Jodi, Julie, Michelle, Steve, Dan, Melissa, Hillary, Dalton, Keegan, Linden, Michael, Leyton and his 14 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Bob. Jack retired from Ontario Hydro after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a life member of Central Masonic Lodge 402 A.F. & A.M. with whom he was recipient of the William Mercer Wilson award, life member Chapter #71 Royal Arch Masons, member of Essex Council #12 Royal Select Masters, member Royal Ark Mariners #4 Council, life member Windsor Preceptry #26, member of Mocha Temple Shriners, member of Sunparlor Shrine Club, Member of Essex Chapter #153 order of The Eastern Star, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #201 Essex, member of Essex United Church and a World War II Veteran. Jack lived a full life and will be remembered and missed. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 87 Maidstone Avenue East, Essex (519-776-4233) on Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-5 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service to celebrate Jack's life will be held from the funeral home on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Doreen Canavan officiating. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #201 Service Sunday 7 pm. Masonic Service under the Auspices of Central Lodge #402, Essex Sunday 7:30 pm.
