YAM -It is with great sadness that the family of Sylvia Sue Fee Yam announces her passing on October 31, 2008. She will be most remembered for her devotion to her family, loving nature, boundless energy, and her ability to find joy in the simplest of things. Sylvia's great passion was music, which she shared with others as a performer, conductor and teacher. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Al; her two children Alberta (Axel Rohrmann) and Clarence; her treasured granddaughter Hanne Rohrmann; her parents Mei Shang and Katherine Hu of Vancouver, B.C.; her brother Banny (Sandra) Hu of Port Coquitlam, B.C; their children Stephanie and Anthony Hu; her mother-in-law Suet Fong Chow; and extended family around the world. The family would like to thank the ICU staff of the Shanxi First Hospital in Taiyuan, China, for their compassionate care of Sylvia. A Celebration of Sylvia's Life will be held on Friday, November 28 at 2:30 p.m. in the Regina Chinese Alliance Church, 3010 Arens Road East. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make a contribution, in memoriam, to the family. Contributions will be used to establish a memorial fund in Sylvia's name for music education.
