Elmer Albert BERKAN

BERKAN-ELMER ALBERT entered the presence of the Lord on November 21, 2008 at the age of 84 years. He was born on the farm near Southey, SK on February 2, 1924. Elmer was predeceased by his first wife Irene (Lofgren) in 1976; parents Fred and Martha Berkan; four brothers; two sisters and numerous brothers-in-law and sistersin-law. Elmer is survived by his loving second wife Olinda Haynes-Berkan; his children Allan (Lynn), Dale (Robin), Donna (Glenn) Dynna, Meryl (Harry) Helgeson, Terry (Holly), Elaine (Leon) Scott, Cindy (Gary) Flutur, Olinda's children Sheila (Gary) Berggren and Tim (Christine) Haynes; his sisters Grace McIlmoyl and Ethel Hoffman; brothers Walter and Floyd; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 24, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Ave., Regina, SK. A Celebration of Elmer's life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Faith Baptist Church, 437 Broadway Ave. E., Regina, SK with Dr. John Barkman and Darold Sauer officiating. Private family Interment will be held at East Mount Cemetery, Strasbourg, SK on Tuesday morning.
