Mary Marguerite MACKAY

BEVERIDGE, Mary Marguerite (Reta) (nee MacKay) Reta passed away at Victoria General Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. She was born in Alberni, B.C. but grew up in Victoria, attending school in Oak Bay. In 1953, she married Robert Beveridge and soon after moved to their home in Saanich on Colquitz Creek. Over the years, this house would host many good times with family and friends. Reta truly loved her life on the creek. Whether working in the yard or watching the wildlife activity on the waterfront, she was always most content just being at home. Her spirit will surely be present forever on that short stretch of water leading into Portage Inlet where she spent so much of her life. Always an animal lover, in recent years her two little dogs Misty and Snoopy brought her great Joy. Reta is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Robert(Bob), her loving son Dan(Trish) and her cherished grandson Michael(Maile). She is also survived by brothers Ken, Cliff(Iris), sister Doreen(Jack)Smith and several nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by brother Todd(Joyce).
