BARR, Ethel May - Co-founder and former President of Gordon Barr Limited, entered into rest peacefully with family by her side, the Kingston General Hospital, on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Ethel (nee Greer), at the age of 88, beloved wife of Gordon Miller Barr, who predeceased her in 1979. Dear mother of Bonnie Sisson (Fred), Brenda, Brian (Francoise), Bert (Val), Brent (Karey), and Beverly. Lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, Robbie Blasko (Nancy) and Ben, Nate, Natalie and Mitchell Blasko; Lisa Gorry (Jim) and Zack and Paige Gorry; Julie Blasko and Megan and Brent Hynes; Lori Hayes and Chantel, Alex and Noah; Jordan and Rachel Barr; Jaime, Holden and Owen Barr; Tessa and Portia Worthy. Predeceased by infant twin grandsons, Ian and Curtis Blasko. Fondly remembered by Jim Blasko, Tim Worthy, Melanie Barr and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Ethel's wishes, cremation will be followed by inurnment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, on Wednesday, November 11, between the hours of 2 - 4 p.m., and 7 - 9 p.m. Memorial service in the chapel on Thursday, November 12, at 1:30 p.m., with Reverend Peter Bartlett officiating. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or U.H.K.F. (Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario), in Mrs. Barr's memory.
