KENNETH 'KEN' WILTSHIRE Veteran WWII Peacefully on November 10, 2009 in his 86th year. Beloved husband to the late Joy Wiltshire; loving father to Carol Anne Warrington and her husband Don, Sharon Leckie and her husband Rick Hayden and Linda Pendrill and her husband Richard; and much loved grandfather of Jeff, Adam, Mikey, Nolan, Margot, Elaine and Ian. After growing up in Humber Bay, Ken enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in 1942 and, after showing his natural flying ability, became a Flying Instructor. After logging over 700 hours, he was confirmed in the British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm as a Sub-Lieutenant. After the war, Ken joined the York Litho Printing Company, becoming their top salesperson and a loyal employee until his retirement. He married his beloved Joy, whom he often said was the best thing that ever happened to him. He was so proud of the family they raised, and even more so that his daughters and their families are so close. His greatest happiness since Joy's death was the time he spent with his three daughters, with the highlight being the holidays they shared together. Ken was an avid golfer and a proud member of the Mississaugua Golf & Country Club for over 50 years. Although quiet in nature, he was a caring and compassionate friend and father. He spent the last weeks of his life in the loving care of his daughters, with his sense of humour intact. Our dad was a kind, sweet and wonderful man and we will all miss him terribly. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Peel' Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 3 p.m. If desired, donations to the Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated. logo Published in the Toronto Star from November 11 to November 13, 2009
