MARGARET ELIZABETH SAWKIW (nee WINTERS) Margaret, a beautiful and generous Irish redhead, was born in 1930 in East Toronto and passed away peacefully after a short, but valiant struggle with cancer, at Credit Valley Hospital, on Saturday, November 7, 2009. An unbelievably caring, inspirational and supporting wife to Eugene and doting mother to son Warren . She is predeceased by her sister Lorraine, brothers George, Douglas and James Sr., nephew Craig and sisters-in-law Lois and Dorothy. She is survived by her niece Anne, nephew James Jr. and by her sisters-in-law Maria, Ailene and Marlene. She was dearly beloved and will be greatly missed by many family members and friends, especially dear friends Olive, Joan and George Hewitt, Joan Morris, Madeline and Orville Edwards; as well as countless friends and acquaintances in the fields of art, sport and life. Margaret was a staunch Canadian, East Torontonian and Maple Leaf Hockey fan (attended their cup victory in 1967). She loved music, sports, flowers, theatre and mostly people, who returned her love and friendship. She exhibited a profound joy of life. We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Butler' Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke, (between Islington and Kipling Aves.) on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 12--5 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. logo Published in the Toronto Star from November 10 to November 11, 2009
