ESCOFFERY, Michael Ivanhoe - In loving memory of Michael Ivanhoe Escoffery, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who passed away on the morning of November 13, 2009 at the age of 89. He is predeceased by his wife Jeannette and his son Alan. He is survived by his daughter Shirley Tousignant and her husband Pierre; daughter-in-law Christine ; grandchildren Jennifer (Lee Harrison), Karen (Jamie Robb), Michael (Shannon), Lisa and Paul (Stephanie); and great- grandchildren Emily, Max, Mina, Jacob, Liam, Cole, Cameron and Caleb. Michael was born in Gayle, Jamaica. He graduated from McGill University in Montreal with an engineering degree. He enjoyed a 44 year career at Canadair, where he was project engineer on the development of the Challenger Jet. His passion for building led to a prolific woodworking hobby in his later years. Michael had a lifelong love of golfing and he regularly enjoyed early morning games with the men in his family. Michael was an avid storyteller and often regaled his family with stories of his youth in Jamaica and university days in Montreal. His crowning achievement, however, was his family and it is with pride and love that each of them will carry a piece of their father, grandfather, and great-grandfather with them always.
