DeLARONDE, Isabella 2009-11-25 Mrs. Isabella DeLaronde age 87 years of Royston Court, formerly of Manion Street passed away unexpectedly in hospital on Monday, November 23, 2009. Born in South Hetton, Derham, England, she served with the Auxiliary Territorial Service from 1940 to 1944. In July 1942 she married John DeLaronde while he was serving overseas. In February 1945 she came to Canada to Nipigon until John returned from the war. They then moved to Terrace Bay where she worked part-time at Wilson Memorial Hospital. In 1982, John and Isabella retired to Thunder Bay where she was a member of St. Margaret R.C. Church, the C.W.L. and the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Arthur Branch #5. Over the years she also enjoyed her trips to Hinckley and her many Norcan bus trips where she made many friends and her coffee friends in the mall. She is survived by brothers and sisters in England, nieces, nephews and other family in Canada. Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John in 2002, and her parents. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Isabella DeLaronde will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 with family and friends assembling at St. Margaret R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM celebrated by Father Ciaran Donnelly. A private interment will be held in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Arthur Branch #5 Building fund would be greatly appreciated.
