LOCKE, Irene (Tierney), R.N., Peacefully on December 31, 2004 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. Loving wife and companion of Lawrence (Larry), married May 23, 1952. Predeceased by her parents William and Charlotte Tierney. She will be missed by her cousin s, in-laws and many good friends made throughout her lifetime. Irene was born in Iroquois Falls and moved to Merritton and attended Merritton High School, moved to St. Catharines and attended the Collegiate. She graduated as an R.N. from the Mack Sch ool of Nursing in 1943 and was with the General Hospital. She entered Private Duty with the Registry and from that entered into Occupational Health Nursing with Thompson Products, Anthes Imperial and Domtar Fine Papers. From there she retired in 1977 at an early age due to illness. Irene was a member of the Mack Alumni Association and a Life Member of the Occupational Health Nurses Association. She completed studies in Industrial Audiometry, Ontario Pulp and Paper Maker's Safety Association, Com munications Course for Supervision and Local Government at Brock University. Irene was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Canadian Power Squadron, a Life Member of Port Dalhousie Yacht Club, Lake of Bays Association and the Tho mpson Products Rifle Club (expert class). She enjoyed cruising the Great Lakes, Muskoka Lakes and Tributaries. She loved to play the organ and the time she spent at her chalet in Baysville, Ontario and in Florida with good friends. After a lengthy il lness with Crohn's Disease, angina and low functioning kidneys, she passed away with dignity, love and care of humanity. A private family service was held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL with Interment in the family plot at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, ON "My dear Irish Rose and Gibson Girl, My North Star and Guiding Light, My Co-pilot and Celestial Navigator ~ some day we'll meet again my love, until then, rest in peace.
