William A. Casey 1923 - 2004 William Casey of Hillsborough Road, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2004, following a lengthy illness. Born in Moncton on December 11, 1923, he was the son of the late James and Catherine (Martin) Casey. Bill served with the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War, and retired after 42 years of service with the CNR Main Shops Moncton. He was a life member of the CNR War Vets, the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch # 6 , was active in various seniors groups and enjoyed all sports. He is survived by his wife Mona (Coombs); sons, Nelson of Shediac, Donald (Sue) of Riverview, John (Jackie) of Dieppe, William and Oliver of Point de Chene; grandchildren, Karen, Christopher, Rene-Michelle, Sean, as well as ten step children. A public Legion Memorial service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, February 27 at 7 pm followed by visitation until 9 pm. With deep respect for Bill's wishes, there will be no public funeral service. He was predeceased by his first wife Verta (Bond) Casey. Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, the Alzheimer Society or the Salvation Army would be appreciated. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
